What are the courses like?

  • The 7K COURSE takes runners through the beautiful, wooded trails of Maplewood State Park. It is a challenging run on uneven terrain, lots of mini-hills and the challenging Ironwood Trail Hill. Because there is virtually no paved surface running, it is not recommended to do pavement only training before this run. Please use CAUTION: many rocks, tree roots, loose gravel.  The finish can be especially problematic as runners go from trail to pavement so please use extreme caution.  The 7K is a challenging course – pace yourself!

  • The 1-Mile LIFE HIKE is an out and back course.

  • Course Markings: RED (flags & ribbons), WHITE 12”x18” RW signs for Mile Markers, and Trail Markings with arrows.

  • The Kid's Runs are held down by the beach of Lake Lida.
